Annapurna Sanctuary

Take off from Kathmandu’s domestic airport and fly towards the west to the beautiful Pokhara valley where we land for refuelling. After the short break, take off again towards the mighty Annapurna Range heading towards the Annapurna Sanctuary also known as Annapurna Base Camp. En route land at Ghorepani pass to view the Himalayan Panorama including the world’s Deepest Gorge – the Kali Gandaki raging way down below and the mighty Mount Dhaulagiri world’s 7th highest peak to the west and the mighty Annapurna range to the north. Annapurna region provides spectacular views of gigantic snow-capped such as Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), and Annapurna South (7219m) along with Machhapuchchhre (6993m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Nilgiri (7041m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), and Tilicho Peak (7134m) etc. right in front of the eyes.

Highlights:

The Valley of Pokhara is called the Lake District of Nepal as it is dotted with many beautiful lakes reflecting the mountains in its water. Another highlight of the flight is the panoramic view of the Annapurna Range, especially the Fishtail Mountain locally known as “Machhapucchare” which dominates Pokhara’s skyline from every angle.

This flight takes you first to Ghorepani Pass from where you may view the Himalayan Panorama to the west and north and after the brief stop, fly out to Annapurna Sanctuary the amphitheater-like enclosure at the foot of the Annapurna Massif, from where one can look at the grandeur of the Annapurna Range in three dimensional projections. It is a sight quite rare in the world.
